2023-2024 New Student Registration Process

STEP 1: Find your child’s school of assignment

• Visit the School Assignments page to find your child's school of assignment.

STEP 2: Collect all required registration documents

• Required registration documents must be complete and up-to-date in order to be accepted by the school office.

STEP 3: Complete and submit the New Student Registration Form

STEP 4: Submit all required registration documents to complete the new student registration  process

• The office staff of the school of assignment will review and verify the required registration documents. Documents can be uploaded in the online registration form or can be given directly to the school office staff either by email or in-person at the school office.

For the 2023-2024 school year, students are eligible to enter:

• Kindergarten if they have reached 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2023. Date of birth is between September 2, 2017 - September 1, 2018.
• Transitional Kindergarten (TK) if they have reached 5 years of age on or between September 2, 2023 - April 2, 2024. Date of birth is between September 2, 2018 - April 2, 2019.

Early admittance to Kindergarten or TK is not permitted.

Kindergarten-aged students are not admitted to TK.

• If you have not previously used Aeries Registration to register a new student in the SMFCSD, you will need to create an Aeries Registration account.
  •  Please use the Create New Account option when prompted in the registration form if you have not previously registered a student using Aeries Registration.
  • If you have an Aeries Parent Portal account for a currently enrolled SMFCSD student, that account information will not log you in to Aeries Registration.

• The Priority Registration window is Monday, December 5, 2022 at 12:00 pm (noon) through Friday, January 27, 2023 at 12:00 pm (noon).
• School sites will continue to accept new student registrations after Priority Registration has ended on January 27. Those registrations are not considered to have priority.
• Registration is considered complete only after you have completed document verification in Step #4.
• Step #4 must be completed by 12:00 pm (noon) on Friday, January 27 in order to be considered within priority.
• The Aeries online registration form can be completed on any internet-enabled device (cell phone, tablet, laptop, computer).
• If your school of assignment does not have a TK program, your child will be placed at a school that does for their TK year and then return to their school of assignment for Kindergarten the following school year.
• District Residency: Students must be physically living with their parent/guardian within district boundaries at the time of registration (AR 5111/Education Code 48200). Ownership of real property within the district does not in and of itself constitute residency.
